Overview:

Sentara Independence Hospital is hiring a full time Continuing Medical Education (CME) Consultant.

Position Overview
  • Monday thru Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. with occasional evening/weekend hours
  • Limited travel, mostly within Hampton Roads
  • Position is part of the Physician Education team which falls under the Organizational Development and Learning function of Human Resources.
  • Oversees the coordination of Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities for physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Works in or with the Physician Education Department for Sentara Healthcare to ensure compliance with Essentials and Standards established by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), American Medical Association (AMA), the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) and Sentara Healthcare (SHC).
  • Collaborates with education professionals regarding: accreditation standards, elements, polices and guidelines.
Skills for Success
  • Ideal candidate has an interest in process improvement and quality methods
  • Strong computer skills are an asset
