Optima Health is hiring an Healthcare Economics Analyst to support our Underwriting / Actuarial Services team in Virginia Beach, VA.


Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Department/Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will be focused on attention to detail in the health insurance and data analysis sector of the department. In this entry level role, the Healthcare Economics Analyst will have an opportunity to collaborate with other members of the department and explore actuarial analysis within the healthcare arena. Previous healthcare or health insurance experience is strongly preferred.

Master's degree required or Bachelor's and 2 years data analytics or 2 years related experience which is experience in broad based analytical, managed care payor, financial analysis or provider environment. Considerable experience in statistical analysis and/or healthcare modeling.


Responsibilities include research and investigate business problems through quantitative analysis using healthcare data. Conducts ongoing presentation of analysis results and finding to support business operations, performance and improvement. Prepares group reporting business, financial and statistical data to help interpret medical cost trends. Coordinate the transfer and/or delivery to all customers receiving data. This position is also responsible for various Ad-hoc reporting based on customer needs.
