Overview:

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital Security Department is hiring a Security Officer.

The Sentara Security Department is seeking a vigilant and detailed Security Officer candidate to provide a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees at Sentara Hospitals and Free-standing Emergency Departments. The Security Officer actively patrols campus and monitors activity in and around buildings and grounds, and responds appropriately to routine and emergency situations. This individual performs camera surveillance, maintains department logs and records, uses computer skills for documentation of daily activities, conducts security investigations, evaluates situations and takes appropriate steps for professional and timely resolution.

A positive driving record is required.

A new hire will complete Handle with Care De-escalation training within 30 days of hire and completed Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification by International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) within 90 days of hire.

Former military, law enforcement or security officer experience preferred.

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, VA, is a Magnet Status, general medical and surgical facility with 160 beds. The hospital offers a full-service emergency room with a dedicated observation unit, Critical Care, Oncology and Stroke services. It also encompasses a Family Maternity Center with an On-site Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
