Manager of Integrated Broadcast Systems

WAMU 88.5 is seeking a Manager of Integrated Broadcast Systems.

WAMU is Washington DC’s leading public radio station for NPR news and information. It’s our mission to connect Washingtonians with each other and the world through balanced, enlightening, inspiring and entertaining programs of the highest quality. 

As Manager of Integrated Broadcast Systems, you will work closely with the Director of Engineering to build, test, maintain and troubleshoot the broadcast systems on which WAMU relies. You will design and implement new systems, lead training programs, and provide support to The Kojo Nnamdi Show, 1A, and our newsroom team delivering critical news and information to over a million listeners across the region.

Your experience and attributes:

  • 3-5 Years of relevant experience in a mission-critical IT environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • A collaborative and supportive work ethic.
  • Good judgment and the ability to evaluate and implement new ideas.
  • Strong prioritizing and organizing skills.
  • A customer service mindset.
  • Experience managing digital audio routing and distribution systems a plus. (AoIP or TDM).
  • Exposure to any or all of these technical systems a plus: Wide Orbit, KLZ Newsroom, Burli, NPR NewsFlex, Adobe Creative Cloud, ProTools, Comrex Access, Tieline/Report-It, Burli, Content Depot, Axia, Burk, Audemat, Blackmagic, Tricaster, Exterity, AMX/Crestron, Christie and others;
  • Experience in both a Mac and Windows environment a plus.
