This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to perform the work of a Maintenance Mechanic without more than normal supervision as demonstrated b: 1) determining the welding techniques and machine setting to be used and making the required welds; 2) assembling parts by seaming, bolting, screwing, riveting, tacking, spot-welding, and soldering; 3) following guides, specifications, accepted shop practices, and oral and written instructions; AND 4) using basic hand and powered tools such as hammers, chisels, hand snips, band and circle saws, squaring shears, seamers, bar folders, brakes, and stakes to cut and form.

Shift work, call back, overtime, and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Work other than normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays may be required.
Physical Effort required by this position: Make repairs from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other hard to reach places. Work may subject employee to long periods of standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, carrying tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 40 pounds. May be required to lift or move heavier equipment with assistance.
Working Conditions: Work is performed both inside and outside. Work may be performed outside in bad weather; in work areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy; on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 feet or more; and in close quarters. May be occasionally exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and moving equipment. May be exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.
