Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.

Job Summary:

Westat is seeking an individual to support a large, national federal government survey.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties related to fixed-site and mobile facilities:

Job Responsibilities:

· Travel to approximately 15 US locations annually for Identification of short-term (3-5 month) facilities supporting operation of mobile examination centers, fixed-site field office operations, and lodging for a national survey. · Prepare and send request for proposal (RFP) to hotel representatives for field staff lodging. · Prepare contract, send and maintain rooming list and coordinate with hotel contacts at local lodging. · Meet with local officials to promote the survey and ensure site operations adhere to necessary state and local requirements · Negotiation of lease agreements, permits, utilities subcontracts and other services associated with site operations.  · Tracking of agreements to ensure services are delivered correctly and on time. · Creation of an annual schedule to ensure all aspects of site selection, setup, operation and teardown activities are completed on time for 15 locations annually.  Each location consists of a mobile examination center and a fixed-site field office: and · Plan, manage and adhere to schedules and budgets.
Basic Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree is required. · At least 5 years of relevant experience is required. · Ability to travel 50% time extensively throughout the US, often with little advance notice.  · Must be able to pass a Federal Government background security clearance for a public trust position.
Candidates must possess excellent written and oral skills including presentations to groups of various levels of federal, state and local officials. You should have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous efforts each in different phases of completion. Experience providing logistical and operational support on a national data collection project is desirable. Experience with using MS Office application suite.
