Technologist and System Administrator, Lead

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for managing the functionality and efficiency of a software systems using Docker, Amazon Web Service and application monitoring tools. Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems in a UNIX/NT-based operating environment. Offer recommendations for hardware and software purchases. Interact with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff. Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Assist with resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity. Exert significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment, and interact with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with DevOps or application administration

-Experience with installing, upgrading, and configuring Linux systems, including RHEL, Red Hat Linux 6x, 7x, CentOS, AWS EC2, Amazon Linux (AMI), and AWS architecture

-Experience with application monitoring systems, including AppDynamics and Kubernetes

-Experience with the installation, configuration, management, and performance tuning of various application servers

-Ability to perform complex analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, testing, and debugging of computer software to support distinct product hardware or technical service lines of businesses

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree required 

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with installing, configuring, and managing Jenkins CI server, Nexus server, SonarQube, Fortify and configuring jobs

-Experience with training junior software engineer staff

-Experience with Perl, Python or Shell scripting

-Experience with Ansible and Puppet

-Experience with Tomcat or any J2EE compliant middleware

-Experience with reviewing and deploying application releases according to best practices

-Experience with supporting application development teams throughout project life cycles

-Experience with monitoring, testing, and tuning system performance, including preserving and providing system log files

-Experience with recommending and executing modifications to Linux systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance

-Experience with conducting research on Linux-related hardware and software in support system development efforts

-Experience with ensuring secure user access and role validation processes

-Experience with developing, documenting, and maintaining platform training materials and systems documentation for educating end users and new IT staff

-Experience in communicating effectively with the team and client in comprehending requirements

-Knowledge of multi-tier architecture a plus

-Knowledge of the Docker platform

-Knowledge of laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices, including advising, counseling, and educating executive and management teams on their relative importance

-Ability to anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software problems on platform systems
