Senior Network Administrator / System Engineer

The person holds a crucial position to the effective day-to-day operations for our internal systems and network. His/her responsibilities cover both hands-on activities such as system/network administration and supporting more strategic initiatives such as infrastructure/information planning (Cloud Migrations) and the development of network related processes, policies and procedures.

Technical Requirements:
  • Microsoft systems to include Active Directory Windows Server, Exchange and SQL security, administration and management
  • Network Administration to include firewall, VPN and switch infrastructure
  • FortiNet products preferred
  • VMware ESX and vSphere virtualization administration
  • SAN and Server hardware security, administration and management
  • Dell preferred
  • Disk/tape backup and restoration utilizing VEEAM enterprise backup software
  • Administration of security related software, Sophos and FortiNet products preferred

  • Requirements
    • Years of experience: 10+ with HS, 8+ with AS, 6+ with BS
    • Education: B.S. in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience
    • Security Clearance: Minimum SECRET but able obtain DoD Top Secret

    Desirable Certifications / Qualifications
    • ITIL certification
    • CompTIA Security+ and Net+
    • Microsoft certifications
    • Knowledge of NIST 800-171 and security requirements

    Primary responsibilities:
    • Network and systems implementation, maintenance and administration
    • Perform server and network implementation, maintenance, and administration to ensure optimal performance and a secure environment.
    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs
    • Assist with the design, documenting and maintaining the corporate enterprise environments with appropriate hardware, operating systems software, applications software, and communications components supporting SA requirements
    • Develop and document hardware and logical configuration changes for the network systems
    • Analyze and resolve network hardware, software, and communications issues using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes
    • Mentor helpdesk staff and perform Tier I - Tier III helpdesk support for internal and external customers including investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of information system issues

    Additional responsibilities:
    • This position will need to develop a working knowledge of all proprietary and COTS applications running on SA servers and workstations
    • Mentor helpdesk staff and perform Tier I - Tier III helpdesk support for internal and external customers including investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of information system issues
    • Knowledgeable of all technical aspects of the voice and data network infrastructure
    • Asset management and inventory control
    • Responsibilities may require working evenings and weekends, occasionally with limited advance notice
