Homeless Outreach/PSH Specialist
The Homeless Outreach/PSH Specialist in the CABHI Program serves vulnerable men and women in the District experiencing homelessness, and is funded by a contract with the Department of Behavioral Health to Benefit Homeless Individuals. Members of the CABHI team use a housing first approach and trauma informed practices to build trust and collaborative relationships. The PSH (permanent supportive housing) specialist/Outreach specialist functions as part of a team to deliver outreach, in-reach, assessment, housing navigation, linking to mental health and/or substance abuse services and follow up housing stabilization services to persons experiencing homelessness or housed within a 6 month period. BA degree and experience working with homeless individuals preferred but not required. Some non-traditional work hours are expected.
Candidates must have a reliable vehicle as most of the work is done in the community, a clean driving record, and be able to successfully complete the agency's background check.
