Senior Services Deployment Engineer

The Senior Services Deployment Engineer is responsible for leading deployment activities associated with maintaining, growing and evolving Intelsat's Flex managed services network. You will lead collaborative efforts to build, deploy and validate Intelsat's Flex and other network satellite broadband platform solutions that support Intelsat commercial and enterprise networks. You will interact with equipment suppliers, integrator vendors, and internally work with peers from Network Planning, Network Design, Field Service Engineering and Network Operations teams. As a leader on the team you will drive the best practices in network system deployment and mentor more junior members of the team.

•Provides guidance on all existing and proposed architecture to ensure streamlined integration
•Proactively identifies system dependencies and project scope changes.
•Develops Statement of Works (SOW) for use with third party integrators and Technical Service Work Orders (TSWO) and lead efforts at remote locations based on these documents.
•Drafts technical drawings (rack elevations, wire and cable diagrams, network diagrams) and maintain as built and redline drawings into corporate repositories.
•Conducts design and service handoff reviews
•Adheres to structured deployment methodology and end-to-end testing.
•Implements and validates fault and performance systems
•Provides level 3 infrastructure support to the operations team, including on-call rotation support
•Resolves issues related to source data and/or systems anomalies.
•Ensures that best practice procedure is incorporated from a multiple department perspective, within your defined role and responsibility.
•Supports the development of automation capabilities.
•Collaborates with the Design Engineers, vendors, Field Service Engineers (FSE), and Program Managers.
•Contributes to current operating standards and process, to increase team effectiveness and process alignment.
•Provides knowledge transfer and mentoring to other engineers and peers as required.
•Contributes to technical training materials.
•Represents the department as a primary technical SME.
•Participates in and leads meetings and activities to support Network Engineering.
•Documents and complies with recordkeeping procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline. At least three (3) years of network experience, with five (5) years preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education and experience requirements
•Network Engineering and system deployment expertise within a Multi-vendor integration experience
•Working experience in Linux command line syntax
•Working experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching
•Experience in low level design and configuration of broadband satellite platforms (ex. iDirect, Gilat, Comtech, Newtech) or data/Internet over satellite systems.
•Excellent hands-on network integration and problem-solving skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Influences others outside of the team to ensure goals are met and conflicts are resolved
•Ability to “think outside the box”
•Ability to work independently on multiple projects
•Desired Certifications: CCNA
•Must have excellent organizational and database skills, with the ability to coordinate between multiple systems.
•Ability to analyze situations and utilize problem solving abilities under pressure.
•Strong ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers is required.
