Systems Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Perform complicated and difficult software or systems design engineering assignments requiring a high degree of technical competence reflecting current state-of-the-art applications. Perform duties, including full technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects in the design and development of computer systems hardware and software. Conceive and plan projects involving the assessment of basic architecture and current hardware limitations, definition, and selection of new concepts and approaches, design, development, and implementation of non-routine major software engineering applications, the analysis and investigation of major software engineering project tasks, the definition of complex design specifications and parameters, development and application of major routines and utility programs, resolutions of difficult hardware or software compatibility and interface design considerations, analysis of system architecture requirements and structures, and the like. Conduct independent technical investigations in software or systems design. Coordinate and consolidate design efforts on major projects. Prepare design specifications, analysis, and recommendations for presentation and approval. Provide technical guidance to lower level engineers and design support personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

-3 years of experience with systems engineering

-Experience with contributing to or developing system designs and architectures

-Experience with contributing to or executing trade studies or analysis of alternatives

-Knowledge of requirements development and management

-Knowledge of technical reviews

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with developing systems engineering plans and identifying cost, schedule, and performance risks and developing mitigation plans

-Knowledge of DoDI 5000.02 acquisition life cycle and systems engineering requirements

-Knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Satellite Communications, and IP network technologies

-MA or MS degree in Engineering

-INCOSE ASEP or CSEP, Security+, and CCNA Certifications
