Dewberry is seeking a qualified, licensed design professionals to join its growing federal intelligence community facilities design practice. The federal IC facilities practice is a designated top ten growth initiative for the firm. Contracts acquired in the past two years and projected future contracts provide a continued solid foundation in this market and provide current and future opportunities for the right kinds of design professionals. The firm is looking to add, in the order of preference, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and architects to its already substantial, cleared staff capabilities. Successful candidates shall possess a minimum of 10-years of professional experience, shall be preferably be licensed in their respective discipline and shall possess or have possessed within the last 12-months a Top Secret (SCI-Fully Poly preferred). Preferred locations, in the order of preference, include the greater Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area, Richmond, VA and Raleigh, NC. Candidates residing in other Mid-Atlantic locales may be considered. Accomplished electrical engineer/PE with a BSEE or Architectural Engineering degree and 10+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power generation and distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on federal facility projects. Responsible for providing technical guidance and design in all areas of work associated with electrical engineering. Experience should include technical and management oversight of multiple projects with proven success in meeting quality, schedule, cost and risk objectives. Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Well organized. Must be a self-starter within the context of an overall client - A/E team environment. Willing to travel in moderation and have the flexibility to potentially work on client sites anywhere in the Washington-Baltimore region. Would be expected to provide the following to effectively and successfully complete projects: Establishing and validating client Programs of Requirements.Conducting field investigations and testing, documentation of existing conditions and performance.Performing technical tasks such as feasibility studies for design and construction.Developing alternative concepts and schematics. Development of drawings and specificationsField acceptance observations.Evaluating and commenting on equipment testing reports for adherence to International Electrical Testing Association (NETA) standards.Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.Engineer of Record.Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.Technical interface with code officials and contractors.Review and provide comments on construction submittals such as equipment, testing reports, and commissioning documents.Provide technical services for designing Audio/Visual Multimedia (AVM) installations for applications such as operations floors, knowledge walls and other multimedia centers.Top Secret government security clearance (active within the past 12 months) required.Knowledge of electrical simulation tools such as Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP).Must be familiar with adjacent areas of expertise such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and become familiar with how this technology is implemented with the client. *At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization. *Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Employer.
