The George Mason University, (Department) is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a Employer Events Assistant. This part-time (wage) position will assist with University Career Servicesâ€™ employer events taking place in the evenings (Tuesday - Thursday).
Duties include, but are not limited to: * Representing UCS according to our mission and values * Greeting and assisting employer representatives at evening on-campus events * Greeting students as they enter evening events and taking their attendance * Coordinating with appropriate Industry Advisor managing the event(s) * Troubleshooting throughout the events and assisting employers, as needed * Debriefing UCS staff on the evening events including but not limited to: event set-up and logistics, any troubleshooting that took place, student and employer feedback and event attendance. Assisting with Handshake database * Reviewing and approving employers * Reviewing and approving opportunities posted in the database * Assisting with data clean-up and resume reviews, as needed Assisting with Career Outcomes Survey * Phone calls to Mason alumni to identify current employment status * Other duties, as assigned Outreach and Marketing (upon request) * Present UCS Overview presentation to student groups and evening classes * Post flyers and marketing materials Required Qualifications: * Bachelorâ€™s Degree, or a combination of education and experience * Available to work Tuesday - Thursday (4pm-9pm) on Masonâ€™s Fairfax campus (multiple buildings) * Professional demeanor and demonstrated customer services skills * Excellent interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: * Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) * Database management (data entry, records management and reporting) * Previous work experience with college recruiters * Previous work experience with a career services management system (Handshake, Symplicity, Sales Force, etc.)
