GENERAL SUMMARY The Executive Social Marketing will lead a team of social media marketing professionals and be responsible for the overall strategy operational plans and execution of social strategies and tactics designed to drive leads and new student enrollment while supporting prospects and students throughout the journey This individual will also work as part of the team that sets the overall digital strategy for the organization to drive efficient growth A successful Executive Director Social Marketing will juggle multiple priorities and demands in order to achieve a positive outcome for the business as well as demonstrate an ability to communicate interpersonally with a wide range of stakeholders and grasp differing viewpoints clearly ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibilities of the position Build and lead high functioning team with a strong culture focused on innovation and driving business results Drive YoY growth in funnel progression active users enrollments and membership Develop and execute social community engagement strategies and tactics Create and develop communication plans and social media initiatives that engage prospects current students faculty and staff Maintain communications protocols to ensure consistent messaging throughout all social communications Track and measure the effectiveness and outcomes of initiatives programs and services Build brand ambassadors and influencers leveraging the communities faculty and staff Establish Walden as a thought leader through engagements with prospects students and alumni Ensure all social community engagements receive a timely and appropriate response with an emphasis on quality customer care transparency and authenticity to a large public audience Leverage all customer touchpoints to maximize the impact of the communities Leverage social listening tools to inform strategy and monitor trends sharing insights with stakeholders and taking action as necessary Manage vendors including selection contracts negotiating costs and deliverables Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including business analytics marketing operations senior management college marketing and management Lead and manage a team of marketing professionals T RAVEL REQUIREMENT S Travel may be required between PROBLEM SOLVING Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to synthesize results extract insights develop recommendations and present findings to senior management TECHNICAL MANAGERIAL and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and or ability required Incumbents will be evaluated in part based on performance of each essential function Appropriate reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Demonstrated track record of driving marketing results Skilled in planning organizing and project management Skilled in budget development and management Understanding of business analysis tools and methods Advanced critical thinking analysis and synthesis skills Experience managing strategic projects ability to understand big picture ability to get strategy implemented Strong relationship building skills A good listener collaborator and influencer Proficient with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint email and Internet software Must thrive in a fast paced constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree MBA preferred years of related Marketing experience with special interest in the higher education experience Experience leading teams and developing a positive innovative culture
