Job Description The Safety Supervisor will assist site management and supervisory personnel with inspections incident record keeping and investigation tracking and reporting of safety performance indicators and identification and correction of hazardous conditions and behaviors Requirements Monitor site conditions practices and procedures for compliance with environmental safety and health Identifies safety hazards at job sites and promotes engagement by all employees in doing the same to achieve a ZERO Incident Safety Culture Enforce corporate and project specific safety and health programs as well as federal state and local safety standards Work closely with field supervision to plan more complex safety aspects of the project construction including critical lifts hazardous material handling etc Assist or conduct weekly tool box safety meetings Conducting safety audits of projects and equipment Assisting in the investigation of accidents incidents and determining root causes and recommend corrective preventive measures Training new employees and existing personnel on safety programs policies and procedures Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Safety Director Qualifications year s construction safety experience in heavy civil construction or underground utility construction OR years with degree in a safety program Proof of training competency as a Competent Person in incident investigation rigging fall protection excavation confined space and equipment safety Valid driver s license required First aid CPR AED Certified Working knowledge of Federal State and local policies regulations specifications and safety requirements OSHA hour Certification Effective written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate technical and analytical problem solving skills Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures Good interpersonal communication skills Good computer skills including MS Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook Maintain a positive work atmosphere interfacing with co workers and management Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work shift work and in a high production environment Must be able to work in varied physical environments All candidates must submit to drug testing and E Verification of their right to work in the US Preferred Qualifications STS C or CHST Bi Lingual highly recommended English and Spanish OSHA Certified USACE EM
