Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions Inc. (CAES Inc.) is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, security and civil markets. The company is governed by a 9 member Board of Directors, and managed independently by a Senior Leadership team.CAES Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Finance & Controller that will be a key member of the Company ' s leadership team. This position reports to the CAES Sr. Vice President & CFO and will be located in Arlington, VA. Position description- The Vice President, Finance and Controller is a critical leader for the Company and CFO; he/she is responsible for the Company ' s maintenance and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles, accounting policies, processes and controls, maintenance of its financial records, consolidation and reporting of the financial results, program / revenue accounting under IFRS 15 (ASC 606) and preparation of internal and external (foreign parent) financial reports. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing the company ' s Financial Shared Services, initially for one business area solution, in alignment with the ERP system roll out. He/She will oversee program finance, FP&A, Financial Systems and Accounting & Controls. He/She will be involved with the annual external audit by public accounting firm and work closely with internal audit to make improvements to the financial processes and controls throughout the organization. This position will be located at the company headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. Key responsibilities- Lead the Company ' s adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and appropriate financial internal controls Lead the Company ' s key functional areas - Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Systems, Accounting & Controls and Program Finance Provide technical accounting guidance to the company ' s financial teams. Ensure that all accounting teams are aware of recent updates and changes in GAAP and IFRS Coordinate half year and year end external audit, including preparation of year-end audit work papers Ensures financial records and reports are prepared in compliance with company policies and in accordance with GAAP and IFRS, and understanding where differences exist Internal and external (foreign parent) financial reporting on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis Responsible for financial due diligence and modeling related to M&A initiatives enterprise wide Responsible for supporting the board of director and audit committee financial presentation materials as well as presentation and participation at regular quarterly audit committee meetings. Creation and consolidation of annual business plan and strategic plan financial budgets and quarterly updates Develop Financial Planning & Analysis roadmap which effectively communicates financial performance and operating metrics to senior management Oversee and manage audit processes Responsible for financial diligence on M&A activities and management of external diligence consulting resources as well as financial modeling for valuation purposes Key internal reference for accounting issues research and solution identification - close partner to business operations and finance teams Partner with Treasury & Tax to assess capital deployment, financing initiatives and State and Federal tax planning Functional leader of both the CAES ERP and Oracle financial system including development and maintenance, security and continuity. Manage implementation of new ERP System inception to go live and post production support Required qualifications- Bachelor ' s degree in Accounting and/or Finance CPA required 15 years ' overall experience with minimum 5 years ' experience in lead financial role with a US public company with US GAAP / IFRS compliance requirements Expert knowledge of approved accounting practices (A/R, A/P, GL, Invoicing, Inventory) including financial statement information and preparation of financial reports; project accounting and familiarity with financial metrics/KPIs Ability to learn and understand business requirements, issues and processes Shared Services Accounting system implementation experience Extensive program management experience, working with internal and external cross-divisional team members Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with both senior leaders, board of directors and UK parent technical team Demonstrated ability to define, recruit, manage, engage and develop a high performing team Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% Preferred qualifications- MBA and / or CMA highly preferred Previous experience in a US Government contracting environment Program management experience including familiarity with change management processes Strong business knowledge and process design skills All applicants must be a US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR (a lawful permanent resident or someone who is a protected individual as defined by 8 USC1324b(a)(3)).
