The Role : Pure Technologies, a Xylem brand, is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join our Columbia, MD office. The Senior Accountant role is an opportunity to provide value-add financial services and accounting support in a dynamic and growing portfolio of service companies. The Senior Accountant will support the month-end close, administrate financial processes, be a partner to business operations and participate in acquisition integration. The ideal candidate is an independent, disciplined and ambitious person who can own his or her responsibilities, has strong organization, communication and documentation skills to allow him or her to manage multiple priorities, processes and stakeholders, while maintaining attention to detail, and will have a curious nature and desire to research and learn, ask questions and maintain a process improvement mindset. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: Execute the month-end close including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. Create accurate, complete and transparent working papers for journal entries. Journal entries include expense accruals, payroll and other compensation entries, fixed assets entries and other corporate overhead expenses. Collaborating with business operations to create and analyze monthly financial reports and provide value-add analytics. Manage capital budgeting and fixed asset spending on an ongoing basis. Administrate and support the corporate credit card process, including credit monitoring and accounting/accrual monitoring. Participate in acquisition integration and onboarding of additional Xylem business units to the Pure finance process. Manage all intercompany balances including monthly reconciliations with counterparties Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: BS in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA preferred. 5-7 years of professional experience from public accounting, or a similar corporate finance/accounting environment, demonstrating a broad knowledge of accounting guidance and methodology. Experience with purchase/acquisition accounting is a plus. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including advanced Excel workbooks. Experience with accounting technology, ERP's and financial reporting tools. Pure utilizes Dynamic AX and related add-on reporting tools. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines including the ability to coordinate and execute the month-end close.
