Let's make an impact together.Perspecta is an AA/EEO Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories Responsibilities Project Description This position will support an Intelligence Community [IC] agency and will provide a full range of IT capabilities to include applications, databases, analytic and data management tools, security and privacy compliance and associated program management necessary to support this agency's intelligence and national security mission.This initiative is divided into three major categories of work:IT Development, Enhancements and Engineering which includes requirements definition, system design/engineering, build, test, and integration to ensure the timely delivery of services, applications, databases, and tools across the agency's enterprise.Applied Technology Assessments provides support through the various IT Lifecycle phases:Planned/future development effortsCurrent development initiativesSustainment of legacy systemsActivities may include identifying, reviewing, prioritizing and inserting new/emerging technologies into current or future initiatives. The work performed may also include activities such as developing prototypes and/or pilots and preparing Analysis of Alternatives that includes, cost, benefit, and risk of potential new and/or emerging technologies. [3] Operations and Maintenance provides support for the sustainment of existing systems including the application of upgrades/patches, for IT hardware, system software, applications, databases, websites, tools by providing system support, end user/help desk support, software/firmware release, infrastructure installation and retirements, and software and hardware configuration and inventory.In general, Tools Developers identify applications that can support the exploitation of databases. Assess what will be required to integrate a particular tool into the customer environment. Integrate tools into the customer environment. Uses the BPM application to create live implementations of processes. Provides group facilitation, interviewing, training, and provides additional forms of knowledge transfer. Key coordinator between multiple project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of reengineering efforts. Tests, debugs, and refines the computer software to produce the required product. Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation. Enhances software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency. Provides technical direction to programmers as required to ensure program deadlines are met.Responsibilities Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improve current techniques.Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.Estimate software development costs and schedule.Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel.Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures.Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance.Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system.Coordinate installation of software system.Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.Confer with data processing and project managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities for data processing projects.Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities and status.Evaluate factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, and need for security restrictions to determine hardware configuration.Train users to use new or modified equipmentRecommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation. Qualifications MinimumTS/SCI w/Poly Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill.16 years relevant experienceDesired Qualifications: Relevant CertificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
