Perspecta is an AA/EEO Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories Responsibilities SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will join a team of systems engineers to provide a strong system engineering perspective and coordination skills to support oversight of software development contractor activities. The SETA will oversee the engineering activities of component software developers, verify the capabilities and interfaces of developed products, integrate the software components into a system, support system test and deployment activities for fielded system. The SETA assists an Intelligence Community (IC) customer by providing technical expertise, continuity of effort, and value added judgement to advise senior customer leadership on systems engineering and software development activities. KEY FUNCTIONS Provide expertise in rapid iterative and incremental software development approaches such as Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework, Lean Software Development, and/or DevOps. Assisting customers in applying these techniques toward mission success. Recommend strategies to migrate systems and functions to government-managed cloud hosting environments. Evaluate contractor designs to ensure requirements are satisfied, external impacts are understood, and user needs are met. Participate in milestone reviews and serves as a principal technical advisor to the government on program readiness Perform oversight on behalf of the program office of verification and validation activities Support operation transitions, coordinate response to discrepancies, and support other enterprise activities Review readiness event artifacts and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) for sufficiency, accuracy and risks. Formulate strategies to achieve the government's enterprise vision and mitigate risks Identify risks and watch items as systems progress through the development lifecycle and recommend mitigation strategies that balance cost, schedule, and performance Assist in the development of key system requirements and assessing the impacts of proposed engineering change Participate in technology studies, code analyses, independent software assessments and research efforts. Examples include: assessments of efforts to virtualize software and put it on a cloud, evaluations of performance of applications in clouds, design and assessment of clouds, assessments of software technologies (eg microservices) in cloud environments. Qualifications Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Familiar with the Systems Engineering "V" and be able to apply principles from it to the assignments. Bachelor's degree in Bachelor degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related technical discipline. Familiarity with US Government acquisition and systems engineering processes, including supporting readiness reviews and sustainment activities. Familiarity with modern cloud and application service provider implementations for software systems. Strong written and oral communication skills; experience authoring technical reports and briefing both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and function in mixed teams comprised of government, SETA, and FFRDC personnel. Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups in person, by phone, and by telepresence. Exceptionally high level of innovation, creativeness, and personal initiative. This position requires the ability to maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Current TS/SCI clearance with SSBI. Desired QUALIFICATIONS Experience with agile-based software development, cloud-based software system infrastructures, AWS technologies, and/or cloud computing Knowledge of systems engineering, acquisition, and integration processes Familiarity with agile roles such as scrum master, product owner, and/or release train engineer will be significantly beneficial in this role Options
