Sales Account Executive
Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our membership sales team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding quota and developing customer accounts in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Must be a self-starter with exceptional networking and customer acquisition skills who knows how to close deals. Must also be able to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team and to build effective long-term customer relationships. Our team offers flexible telecommuting/remote options, but we would prefer candidates in the greater Washington DC or greater Boston areas. Responsibilities Become an expert in the value, benefits, and features of all forms of AEE membership Research and source leads for outbound campaigns Build and maintain a strong opportunity pipeline to consistently meet or exceed quota Work with AEE's broader Membership and Corporate Development team to improve both our inbound and outbound lead qualification and sales process Leverage AEE's broader team of policy initiative leads as subject matter experts for conveying our membership value proposition to prospects Define success criteria and value propositions with each customer Negotiate and close new sales for opportunities ranging in size from $5K to $70K Create groundswell and drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities Use a data driven approach to identify inefficiencies and continuously improve our sales process to increase conversion rates, average deal size and reduce sales cycle time Required Qualifications 2+ years as a Sales Account Executive with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field Experience developing and maintaining customer relationships in a B2B environment; prior membership sales experience preferred. High proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platform Commitment to operating with a sense of urgency and a positive winning attitude Excellent writing / verbal communication skills to interact with prospects / AEE members Have a good understanding of trade associations from a conceptual standpoint and be able to effectively and succinctly communicate this to both inexperienced and experienced audiences Accurate forecasting and pipeline management skills History of being a top producer in previous roles Strong focus on your goals and a belief that your daily, weekly, and monthly activities will help you achieve them Proven consultative selling and closing skills Proficiency Microsoft Office products Highly Desirable Basic knowledge of the energy and/or government affairs industry Basic awareness of the role of policy in the energy industry Experience working with a geographically dispersed team Passion for AEE's mission of driving toward a prosperous world based on secure, clean, affordable energy To apply, please send cover letter, resume and any additional materials requested above to firstname.lastname@example.org.
