  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Non-preference eligibles will need to complete a two year trial period and preference eligibles will need to complete a 1 year trial period if not previously completed in the competitive or other excepted service.
  • GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support to include data processing, records management, and processing travel arrangements/claims.

    GS-05: Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector preparing administrative reports using automated software, assisting in processing travel arrangements/claims, teamwork, personal initiative, customer service, providing personnel administration, data processing and file maintenance.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

    GS-05: OR successfully completed four years of education above high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.
    OR have a combination of specialized experience as described above and education that equates to one year of experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement for GS-05 grade level equivalency. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Your percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
