Re-Entry Specialist in Community Behavioral Health
Community Connections seeks a Re-Entry Specialist to work on our Re-Entry Project for returning citizens who have behavioral health problems. The Re-Entry Specialist visits people in jail and prison, facilitates events on the day of release, and provides direct support to consumers in their first weeks in the community.
Minimum Qualifications:BA degree Two years' experience providing behavioral health services to people dually diagnosed with a major mental illness and addiction Experience working with the criminal justice system and an understanding of its impact on vulnerable people; empathy for the unique problems of justice involved individuals excellent organizational skills
Preferred qualifications: MSW or MA in Counseling with a DC LGSW or LGPC, as well as the experience described above
Candidates must have a reliable vehicle, clean driving record, and be able to successfully complete the agency's background check.
