  • Employee is required to obtain appropriate immunization agains communicable diseases in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), wich includes influenza vaccine.
  • In accordance with the Department of Navy Test Designated Postion listing issued 7 Oct 2003 this position is subject to both pre-employment and random drug testing as a condition of employment.
  • A positive drug test or failure to submit for testing may become basis for non-consideration of position or removal from position.
  • Marijuana is a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act.Use of marijuana is illegal under Federal law regardless of State laws. A positive drug test result for marijuana (or any other drug tested for) will result in withdrawal of offer.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization records and be freee from communicable disease.
  • Satisfactorily complete all background checks in accordance with PL 101-647 to include National Agency Check with Written Inquires (NACI).
  • Must satisfactorily obtain or complete required training certificates and maintain certifications or credentials required by Federal, State or National Accrediation Institutions utilized as part of DOD's CY Programs.
  • Must obtain appropriate credentials as required.
  • Position subject to special inoculation and immunization requirements as a condition of employment for working with children.
  • In accordance with DoDI 6060.2, must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.  The Military Child Care Act requires national accreditation of CY programs. Minimum education requirements are required by the accrediting body.

    Must meet Education qulifications as listed under Education Section.

    Incumbents MUST have one of the following: 

    Completion of DoN Standardized Module Training AND 12-Months experience at the CY-II (GSE-04) Level.    

    OR

    A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Military School-Age (MSA) credential AND completion of 1 year at the CY Program Assistant/Base Level 4 where incumbent displayed knowledge of and competency in developmentally appropriate programming for children and youth.

    OR

    A minimum of a 2-year degree in Youth Development, Child Development or a related field, which can include Recreation, Youth Recreation, Physical Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work, Home Economics with an emphasis in Human Development, or other degrees as appropriate.

    Spouses of active duty military members of the Armed Forces may receive preference in hiring under this announcement if they are among the best qualified referred and are within reach of selection. Spouse Preference does not apply to NF 04 and NF 05 positions. Please clearly identify in your application that you are asking for spouse preference and complete the Request for Military Spouse Preference form and submit a copy of current PCS orders.  Failure to submit current PCS orders with application will prevent spousal preference from being granted.  Acceptance or declination of a regular full or part-time non-appropriated or appropriated fund position ends your ability to claim this preference. 

    Some positions have special requirements.  In these cases selection is tentative pending satisfactory completion of these requirements.  Applicants may be required to provide proof of education, etc. All selections are contingent upon the obtaining of satisfactory employment reference checks.

    As a condition of employment, the selected individual will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer program.
