TRAVEL REQUIRED:

75% or less - Incumbent deploys on short notice to provide direct support in areas in active conflict or crisis, or under critical all-hazard threat. Such deployments will be to overseas locations that are austere, at extremes of temperatures and altitude, under conditions of political instability, and with limited or no host nation resources available for assistance.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • One year probationary period, unless excepted by regulation.
  • Obtain/maintain eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information
  • This position requires that the incumbent meet initial and continuing qualifications in the use of firearms as outlined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, amended by the Lautenberg Amendment of 1996
  • Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements, including education and any selective placement factors described below by the closing date of this announcement.

    If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.

    GS-13: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

    Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
    • Experience developing, refining, planning, executing, and managing complex service support plans supporting overseas contingency operations and crisis response.
    • Experience managing execution of highly sensitive crisis response operations overseas.
    • Experience in providing support for security related crisis overseas.
    There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
