  • Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13), which is directly related to this line of work.

    Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and MUST be addressed in the application in order to be considered:
    • Experience in content editing, i.e., checking for factual errors, contradictions, and/or inconsistencies.
    • Experience leading in-depth news reports and special projects in a multi-platform environment shaping, guiding, reporting, and telling reputable, balanced, unbiased, comprehensive, and compelling stories.
    • Experience leading the production/creation of content in a multi-platform environment such as radio, TV, digital, and social media (i.e., Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
    • Experience in international and national journalism laws, ethics, and practices.
    • Experience supervising a team of writers, editors, and reporters and training and mentoring them, providing support and guidance regarding useful reporting and content editing techniques.

    3. If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/59 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency.
