Airspace Environmental Analyst
CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at CSU. CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DOD) and other public lands. An Airspace Environmental Analyst (Research Associate III, Special) position is available with Colorado State University’s (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) to provide environmental support for all airspace and range matters as directed by Air Force Instruction (AFI) 13-201: Airspace Management. Located at the Air National Guard (ANG) Readiness Center, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, this position serves as the ANG Plans and Requirements Branch’s (NGB/A4AM) primary point of contact for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review of ANG airspace actions. This position assists with Restricted Areas, Military Operations Areas (MOA), Air Traffic Control Airspace, and Military Training Routes, as well as ANG Installations and Mission Support (NGB/A7) in assuring proponents meet all Environmental Impact Analysis Process (EIAP) requirements.
The Airspace Environmental Analyst will coordinate with ANG Civil Engineer and Environmental programs, as well as with external governmental agencies and organizations like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is responsible for impact analysis and technical guidance for airspace and range actions in accordance with AFI 32-7061 and with the FAA’s National Policy Oder 105.1E. The position provides technical review of Test and Training Space Needs Statements (T/TSNS), and prepares, plans, schedules, programs, manages and oversees NEPA projects related to airspace/range actions.
