    This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Student Trainee (Administrative and Office Support), GS-0399-07 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

    This position will be filled under the Pathways Internship Program. This Program allows students to gain paid work experience while pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate at a qualifying institution. Under the Pathways Program, students who successfully complete all work, study, qualifications, and other eligibility requirements may be offered a permanent position work our agency upon graduation or completion of a qualifying certificate.

    At the Agency's discretion, students hired under the Pathways Program may be non-competitively converted to a term, career, or career-conditional appointment with a possible Full Performance Level (FPL) of GS-05, GS-07, GS-09, GS-11, GS-12, or GS-13 (FPL varies based on hiring department).

    This position is in the excepted service.

    This position is  a non-bargaining unit position.

    This position may be eligible for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).

    Minimum Education Requirement:

    GG-07:  Successfully completed 1 full academic year of graduate level education, at least 18 credit hours (27 quarter hours),

    or

    Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.

    S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership

    1. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.

    2. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of:    

    a. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum;

    or

    b. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.

    3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society- Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies listed below. These honor societies are listed by the Association of College Honor Societies.
