Patent searchers - engineers ( full time/part time/work from home available)
Position requires a B.S., M.S. or PhD in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering. Prior patent searching experience of at least 6 months, is required. US citizenship or Green Card is a must.
Researcher is assigned a number of patent searches involving primarily patentability (new ideas, structures, methods, processes, applications) upon initial employment and progressing to include State–of-the-Art/Landscape Search (usually for research or patent strategy), Infringement (product announcements) and Validity (to assist client during/before litigation) searches as more experience is gained. Researcher is responsible for prioritizing work activities, taking into account the date on which individual searches are due for completion, so that all work is completed within time frames established in conjunction with the client’s needs, and as set by a Patent Fusion manager.
Researcher compares inventor technical disclosures with known U.S. patents and technical literature to make a determination regarding the existence of patents or literature which include the novel aspects of the disclosure.
Researcher prepares a clear and concise search report, which is submitted to the client.
Preferred experience with: PatBase, Questel Orbit, EPO, JPO, USPTO East.
