Job Summary:

Westat is seeking a qualified Research Analyst to help support epidemiological studies, analysis and reports, and the management of related datasets.

Job Responsibilities:

· Work with Westat colleagues and clients on epidemiological data and analyses measuring and linking healthcare utilization, health outcomes, risk factors and exposure to hazards · Writing, testing and executing programs to merge data from different sources, conduct analysis, and develop reports supporting epidemiological studies · Contribute to a project team conducting ongoing evaluation, data analysis, and descriptive products characterizing the relationships between risk factors and healthcare outcomes of unique subpopulations (e.g., veterans, military service members). · Developing solutions to complex problems requiring a background in health, epidemiology, relational databases and/or quantitative research.

Basic Qualifications:

· A Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, or related health science and at least 3 years of relevant work experience is required. · Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) data · Experience with SAS (statistical software) · Experience with Microsoft office suite
The ideal candidate will have general proficiency with SAS to produce tables and other types of output, merge and link data from multiple sources, and manage datasets in support of epidemiological or health-related research studies. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; detail-oriented and work well in a team environment.
