As a member of the Services Provisioning Engineering team, the Senior Provisioning Engineer will work in alignment with corporate guidance and goals to perform service fulfillment. You will work closely with the Customer Solutions Engineering team to ensure customer requirements are clear and meet customer expectations as part of the pre-sales and service fulfillment process. You will be responsible for the delivery of service and product offerings across Broadband, Media, Mobility, and Government sectors. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple satellite and terrestrial communication network technologies. You will be a primary interface to customers during the service fulfillment process and provide leadership to support organizations. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for generating service designs, coordinating physical service implementation, implementing logical configurations, working with customers to support network and VSAT activation and providing technical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert. In this role, you will provide scheduling guidance, approvals to proceed with implementation, orchestrate and lead the service provisioning process and ensure a quality handoff of the service to the customer and the Network Operations team. As a Senior Provisioning Engineer you will represent the Services Provisioning team in Service Delivery meetings and work across the organization on quality and optimization initiatives.
•Collaborate with the Customer Solutions Engineering team to establish initial service requirements for new and amended customer service requests
•Review and validate service order package for completeness, accuracy, achievable delivery date and service feasibility
•Translate customer requirements into low level designs that are required to provision and activate customer services
•Collaborate with Engineering and Planning teams to ensure hardware, licensing, network design, and features meet the expected service product offering that will be delivered to the customer
•Act as the primary interface with the customers to lead them through the service provisioning process and set expectations around the provisioning process
•Provide technical leadership and coordinate with internal teams and the customer throughout the service delivery process
•Orchestrate the physical implementation of services, perform the logical configuration of services and activation of customer VSATs onto the network
•Document the customer network for service assurance handoff to the Network Operations team
•Validate service configuration and acceptance prior to handoff to the customer and Network Operations
•Provide Subject Matter Expertise across multiple technologies
•Represent Service Provisioning as lead SME supporting New Product and Product evolution initiatives
•Work within established Service Delivery guidelines and support initiatives to improve the service delivery process
•Build productive work relationships with stakeholder organizations: Customer Solutions Engineering, Product Management, Network Engineering and Network Operations
•Support process improvement initiatives
•Track services through the preparation of status reports and maintaining accurate log documentation
•Create, maintain, and ensure Service Records are reflecting operational service as designed
•Mentor and train team members in areas of expertise
•Continuously monitor the status of all service requests and open projects starting with the pre-sales process through completion and handoff of the service
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Must have a Bachelors degree or equivalent technical training or an equivalent combination of education and direct work experience, with at least 3 years RF network experience, or 3 years of hands on experience with VSAT and broadband hub platforms
•Knowledge of RF modulation techniques and IP networking
•Experience with SCPC satellite modem technologies a plus
•Experience with iDirect, Gilat or Newtec technologies a plus
•Provisioning, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience strongly desirable.
•Must have knowledge of and experience with a wide range of technologies including routers, switches, VSAT uplink and downlink hardware, satellite modems, and associated redundancy hardware
•Must have experience with the implementation of satellite services (i.e. working with satellite modems/interfaces and network equipment/interfaces), including strong experience with specifying the configurations of satellite modems at the hub and customer facility
•Must have intermediate knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), MPLS traffic engineering and VPN technologies
•Must have working knowledge of TCP, UDP and application layer protocols
•Must have intermediate knowledge and experience working with TCP/IP technologies including IPv4/IPv6 addressing/subnetting, IP unicast routing, IP Multicast routing, and associated technologies
