If you are a current Adventist HealthCare employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account. The Outpatient Wellness Clinic (OWC) provides medication management and psychotherapy services to a diverse population of children, families and adults.

The Medical Assistant provides support to the providers to ensure efficient clinical operations, including: taking vitals and administering health screenings prior to provider visit and documenting results in electronic medical record, coordinating medication refill requests and medication prior authorizations, communicating patient concerns to provider, assisting providers with administrative tasks, and assisting with coordination of care. The Medical Assistant also supports the front desk operations by answering and directing incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, and providing front desk coverage as needed.
Work Schedule:

Take vitals and administer screenings on patients prior to provider visit 70%

Coordinate medication refill requests 15%

Answer and direct incoming calls, schedule patient appointments, cover front desk as needed 5%

Assist providers with administrative tasks and care coordination 5%

Other duties as assigned 5%

Empathic toward individuals with mental illness and their families

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining professionalism

Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork

Proficient in navigating electronic medical records

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a medical office performing as a medical assistant.

Completion of a medical assistant training program

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
