Program Manager, MSM Program
The George Mason University, School of Business is looking for an energetic, organized, and detail oriented Program Manager to support the MS in Management (MSM) operations. This is a full-time classified staff position with full benefits. Responsibilities: Program Operations which includes: â€¢ Managing the day to day operations of the MSM program, including program logistics, global residency logistics, monitoring of budget; â€¢ Developing or enhancing processes to enable the program to operate more efficiently; and â€¢ Providing input on budget planning and support and reports as needed.
Serving as a Student Liaison and Advisor which includes: â€¢ Serving as the main point of contact for students in the MSM program regarding academic advising, graduation, and policy compliance.
Procurement which includes: â€¢ Managing program vendors (residency, catering, speakers, etc.), which includes developing requests for proposals and managing vendor selection; and â€¢ Utilizing the eVA system, Travel Request System, Catering System, and other procurement systems to process purchases for programs.
Event Planning which includes: â€¢ Planning events for the MSM program including, but not limited to, program immersion, graduation, and networking events; and â€¢ Ensuring all events are properly planned, scheduled, and communicated.
Recruitment and Admissions Support which includes: â€¢ Supporting in the planning and execution of recruitment events in support of the MSM program and graduate enrollment and admissions; â€¢ Recruiting at the undergraduate campus and regional fairs; â€¢ Scheduling and arranging prospective student class visits; and â€¢ Scheduling admissions interviews with applicants and the program director.
Strategic Planning and Development which includes: â€¢ Being responsible for contributing to strategy development and implementation for the MSM program including program positioning, increasing competitive advantages, and partnering opportunities.
Required Qualifications: â€¢ Bachelorâ€™s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; â€¢ Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, database expertise, and e-mail and network applications; â€¢ Ability to effectively communicate and work with others to achieve results; â€¢ Good citizenship and the ability to work well with colleagues; and â€¢ Proactive problem solving skills, attention to detail, ability to motivate, and ability to learn new tasks quickly.
Preferred Qualifications: â€¢ Experience working in a higher education environment; â€¢ Experience with the Commonwealth of Virginiaâ€™s procurement system (eVA); â€¢ Working knowledge of program administration and experience in a graduate program setting; and â€¢ Excellent communication, analytical, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
