Overview

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) seeks a Talent Development assistant to join its growing Talent Development team.​ This position plays a key role in a broad array of talent development needs and is looking for a self-starter with competencies in communication, critical evaluation, relationship management, and workplace ethics. This is a hands-on, entry-level opportunity to learn management and leadership skills at one of the nation’s leading public policy institutes.  

The assistant must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with employees, interns, and applicants. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal direction. Strong attention to detail and sharp time management skills are also a requirement. A strong interest in the work of AEI’s scholars and knowledge and understanding of public policy and the think tank community is required. A bachelor’s degree is required, and previous experience in recruiting and/or relationship building is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with campus recruiting and college outreach
  • Creating and compiling content for weekly all-staff newsletter
  • Maintaining staff records, rosters, and job descriptions for HRIS data entry
  • Assisting with scheduling and meeting or calendar appointments needs for the Talent Development team
  • Coordinating and facilitating staff professional development and events
  • Assisting with staff onboarding and offboarding
  • Preparing job postings and assisting in application reviews
