Do you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business along with 5 years of Accounting experience? Our client, a Non-Profit Membership Association near the Gallery Place Metro is in need of a Temp-to-Hire Staff Accountant to assist their Controller and CFO in carrying out the day-to-day accounting activities with specific emphasis on payroll transactions. This person will manage all aspects of the payroll system and processes.
Duties will include administering all bi-weekly payroll functions including reconciliation related general ledger accounts and quarterly tax Form 941. Will also prepare journal entries for payroll bank withdrawals, COBRA deposits and tax payments; prepare check requests for garnishments and tax levies; and prepare the funding transmittal for 403(b) payments.
Other duties will include preparing journal entries, managing the Flexible Spending Account (FSA), administering the accounts payable/cash disbursement system, processing employee expense.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field along with at least 5 years of accounting experience and at least 2-3 years of experience with payroll processing and tax filing. Knowledge of payroll systems with a background in grants and contracts a plus. Experience with Paychex payroll and timekeeping, and Great Plain finance systems strongly preferred.
