Facilities Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks a Manager for the Piped Services unit in Operations and Maintenance to provide coordination, contractor supervision and field inspection associated with a time and material underground utility emergency repair contract and bid projects, as well as interior piping projects that due to size and complexity, will be accomplished by contract. The incumbent will perform scheduled inspections and respond to emergency situations to determine best course of action to minimize property damage and maintain a safe environment for students and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma/ GED, with an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the facility, maintenance, repair, and/or restoration trades including contract management. With no degree, ten (10) years’ experience required. A minimum of five (5) years of working in a lead or supervisory capacity. Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, with fewer than six points.
Possession of a current Maryland recognized Master Plumber’s license is desirable.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary is based on qualifications and experience. Position is Essential and subject to 24-hour/day, 7-day/week span of operation. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans and tuition remission for employees and dependents.
