LAW FIRM RECEPTIONIST OPENINGS! Multiple well-established D.C. law firms seek polished and professional candidates for immediate Receptionist openings: 1. RECEPTIONIST LOCATION: Washington, D.C. – Northwest (metro-accessible) HOURS: Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. D.C. office of a mid-size law firm seeks a Receptionist for their front office.  Candidate will answer phones, meet and greet clients and office visitors, schedule conference rooms and visitors’ offices, assist with catering needs, and provide general administrative support as needed.  Candidates should be flexible to work occasional overtime (to assist with before and after-hours events) and must be detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and an engaging personality, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.  Must also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Prior office experience is required (in a legal environment preferred but not required). 2. EVENING RECEPTIONIST LOCATION: Washington, D.C. – NW (metro-accessible) HOURS: Monday through Friday, 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Large D.C. firm is seeking a polished and professional Evening Receptionist who is energetic, eager, and willing to jump in to help when needed.  Excellent time management and organizational skills along with the ability to juggle several projects at once and meet deadlines are required.  Must also possess strong computer skills and be able to provide superior customer service and support.  Professional demeanor and regular, reliable attendance required. Responsibilities will include: Operating multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directing callers to appropriate personnel Answering incoming telephone calls, determining the purpose of callers, and forwarding calls to the appropriate personnel or department Assisting with coverage on partner lines as necessary Taking and delivering messages or transferring calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable Using the Firm’s paging system to locate personnel Maintaining the security and appearance of the reception area; monitoring visitor access Maintaining the appearance and organization of the reception desk Answering questions regarding the Firm and providing callers with the address, directions, and other information Welcoming on-site visitors and clients, determining the nature of their business, and announcing visitors and clients to appropriate personnel Scheduling office maintenance requests with building management Ordering flowers or gifts for clients or staff as requested Assisting with other miscellaneous tasks Entering staff attorneys’ and contract attorneys’ time descriptions in the Firm’s timekeeping database; assisting secretaries with partner and associate time entry as needed Maintaining the Firm telephone and home address lists, and all other administrative lists as noted in the Receptionist Handbook Posting updated Firm telephone extension lists in all conference rooms, kitchens, satellite copy rooms, telephone closet, and other areas as needed Maintaining the telephone closet with office supplies (paper, pens, pencils, phonebooks, and chairs) Receiving incoming first-class mail; sorting mail for delivery to named partners; sorting and opening accounts payable and date-stamps Coordinating scheduling and catering for weekly attorney lunch Coordinating reservations and catering needs for conference rooms Coordinating evening work-late dinner orders Maintaining the Firm’s rolodex database with updated names, addresses, and telephone numbers for use by all personnel Assisting with mas mailing of Firm announcements Creating and printing fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as necessary Performing other clerical duties as needed, such as filing and collating Assisting with overflow work from secretary group Performing all duties as outlined in the Receptionist Handbook Preparing and circulating the Firm newsletter to all staff Please submit resumes in Word format to We look forward to hearing from you!
