AboutWeb is currently seeking an Information Systems Manager for a contract to hire position with our client in Arlington, Va. The Information Systems Manager holds a crucial position to the effective day-to-day operations of our client. His/her responsibilities cover both tactical activities such as system/network administration and supporting more strategic initiatives such as infrastructure/information architecture planning and the development of network related processes, policies and procedures and cost control. The Information Systems Manager will be responsible for all aspects of corporate Information Systems (IS), leading a small team of network/system administrators, security administrators, and help desk personnel. The Information Systems Manager will sustain our long standing culture of customer satisfaction, teamwork and mutual respect for all stakeholders in the client's information systems enterprise.

Technical Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree (related field preferred)
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Network Engineering to include firewall, router, and switch infrastructure. FortiNet products preferred.
  • Configuration, maintenance, and support of the corporate voice and data networks. Avaya VoIP phone system administration experience preferred.
  • VMware ESX and vSphere virtualization administration.
  • Data center operations to include power management and security.
  • Active Directory design, security and administration.
  • Windows Server (2008-2016) security, administration and management.
  • Microsoft Exchange (2010-2016) security, administration and management.
  • SQL Server (2008-2014) security, administration and management.
  • SAN and Server hardware security, administration and management. Dell and iSCSI preferred.
  • SharePoint administration experience desirable.
  • Disk/tape backup and restoration utilizing VEEAM enterprise backup software.
  • Web Server security, administration and management.
  • Management of security related software to include Sophos products, NetFlow and SIEM performance and review and encryption platforms.
  • Work to review and implement latest NIST 800-171 and security requirements.
Requirements
  • Years of experience: 10+ with HS, 8+ with AS, 6+ with BS
  • Education: B.S. in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Security Clearance: Minimum SECRET but able obtain DoD Top Secret
Desirable Certifications / Qualifications
  • ITIL certification
  • Security+
  • CISSP
  • CCNP Routing and Switching
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Network architecture planning
    • Design and configure our client's enterprise environments (internal and external facing) with appropriate hardware, operating systems software, applications software, and communications components to support the business requirements.
    • Work with stakeholders to understand their networking requirements and oversee projects to satisfy these requirements.
    • Develop and document hardware and logical configuration plans for the network systems.
  • Network and systems implementation, maintenance and administration
    • Evaluate and recommend network software and hardware to support the enterprise systems.
    • Acquire and implement network systems to support the operating environment
    • Oversee network related projects from the design table to final deployment while ensuring maximum uptime.
    • Regularly assess the effectiveness of network hardware, software, and communications performance in light of the stakeholder and organizational needs.
    • Monitor and administer network systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • Analyze and resolve network hardware, software, and communications issues using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes.
    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs to include SIEM and NetFlow platforms.
    • Ensure the team's delivery of high quality customer service to internal customers (and indirectly, external customers) through the support of the client's help desk.
  • Policies & procedures
    • Assist with designing, documenting and maintaining the processes, policies and procedures necessary to support the optimal delivery of IS services and the overall technical operations of the IS infrastructure.
    • Responsible for the overall design and administration of the network and security infrastructure including firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems and endpoint protection.
    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures for the network and network resources.
    • Review and update policies and SSP for NIST 800-171 compliance.
  • Other
    • Manage, supervise, and mentor corporate IS staff personnel.
    • Design, document and maintain the processes, policies and procedures necessary to support the optimal/efficient delivery of IS services and the overall technical operations of the IS infrastructure.
    • Knowledgeable of all technical aspects of the voice and data network infrastructure.
    • Asset management and inventory control of our client's owned IT hardware and software.
    • Ensure the team's delivery of high quality customer service to internal customers and external customers through the support of the corporate help desk policies & procedures.
    • Working knowledge of all proprietary and COTS applications running on corporate servers and workstations.
    • Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) responsibilities for the standalone classified computer systems. Strict adherence to the Master System Security Plan (MSSP) is of paramount importance. The ISSM will also be responsible for yearly DSS audits and MSSP accreditation every 3 years.
    • Manage our client's Service Level Agreements with venders and third party IT contractors.
    • Responsibilities will require working occasional evenings and weekends, at times with limited advance notice.
