Bloomberg Government provides congressional, regulatory and legal news to government affairs and government relations professionals. We are seeking an Outside Sales Associate. The Outside Sales Associates are key members of the sales team. They work closely with other members of the sales team to build and nurture prospects in order to accelerate sales for BGOV products in the government affairs and government contracting market.
Coordinate efforts amongst the sales team to build prospect lists using both internal and external sources. Work closely with BGOV sales team to build prospect lists using both internal and external sources. Assist team with creating and managing a pipeline of new sales leads and opportunities. Support the sales team by calling prospective customers and then setting up and participating in-person client meetings. Attend and participate in customer meetings. Meet with prospective client’s offsite to train them on BGOV during the sales process and assist sales in moving opportunities towards closure. Arrange and attend customer visits and provides enhanced training as needed to support driving usage and additional sales opportunities. Conduct e-mail campaigns using team lead approved scripts that are incidental to in-person sales calls. Attend local networking events in support of growing outside sales. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS:
1+ year of relevant experience; demonstrated ability to organize, multi-task, and effectively communicate; excellent written, verbal, probing and listening skills; ability to identify and develop prospects through in-person meetings, supported by social, email, and telephone outreach; ability to follow established policies and procedures, objectives, and business standards; ability to consult, negotiate and persuade; ability to effectively report and present individual sales activity on a regular basis; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team structure; excellent organizational and time management skills; must be creative and proactive; strong client relations skills; must travel to client sites. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
