    Applicants must have a graduate degree in public policy, public administration, economics, demographics, or a closely related field. Experience analyzing or working on immigration issues is required.
    Furthermore, candidates should have:
    Excellent oral and written communication skillsespecially the ability to explain complex material clearly and concisely to colleagues, Congressional staff, Members of Congress, and the public;
    Strong quantitative skills, including experience with statistical software or a programming language; and
    The ability to work on several analytical problems simultaneously and to complete projects independently under tight deadlines.

Candidates must have passed or be able to pass a Tier 2 (Public Trust) investigation, which includes a credit check. A higher security clearance may be accepted instead.
