Background or Security Investigation: This is a Special Sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security determination to occupy a Special Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.

An earned master's degree or other international equivalent degree (doctorate or other terminal degree preferred) from a regionally accredited university in a discipline directly related to strategic leadership.


Evidence of excellence in teaching as a faculty member at an accredited college or university.

Research experience, demonstrated through scholarship, publications, or outreach activities; recognition with academic, research communities, or professional experience.

CRITERIA FOR ACADEMIC RANK:
Assistant Professor: 1) an earned master's degree (a doctorate or other terminal degree preferred) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline related to strategic leadership 2) documented evidence of promise in teaching, with some graduate level leaching experience preferred. 3) scholarship/research resulting in the creation and sharing of new knowledge through teaching or publishing; and 4) aptitude in collaboration across institutional boundaries.

Associate Professor: 1) an earned doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline related to strategic leadership 2) at least five years of full-time teaching experience at an accredited university, of which at least two years must be at the graduate level 3) record of excellence and leadership of scholarship among peers and external recognition of excellence; and 4) record of advancement of institutional partnerships, relationships that leverage cross-component mission success, and networks of influence that contribute to national security.

Associate Professor of Practice: 1) an earned master's degree (a doctorate or other equivalent terminal degree preferred) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline directly related to strategic leadership 2) at least 7 years of outstanding performance as a senior-level practitioner in an agency of the federal government, professional staff member of a Congressional Committee, or senior level professional in the private sector with an outstanding record of public service, professional achievements in areas related to strategic leadership, specialized certification and/or regional, national or international prominence.

Professor of Practice: 1) an earned master's degree, doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline related to strategic leadership 2) at least 10 years of outstanding performance as a senior-level practitioner in an agency of the federal government, professional staff member of a Congressional Committee, or senior level professional in the private sector with an outstanding record of public service, professional achievements in areas related to strategic leadership, specialized certification and/or regional, national or international prominence.

Professor: 1) an earned doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline directly related tostrategic leadership 2) at least eight years of full-time teaching experience at an accredited university, of which at least three years must be at the graduate level, with a sustained record of excellence and contributions to the curriculum 3) sustained record of excellence and leadership of scholarship among peers and external recognition of excellence; 4) sustained record of advancement of institutional partnerships, relationships that leverage cross component mission success, and networks of influence that contribute to national security

This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension.   2. Teaching and Curriculum Development - Describe your experience in developing and teaching at the graduate-level and/or undergraduate level at a college or university, on either full-time or part-time basis in an area related to strategic leadership
  3. Scholarship and Consulting - Describe your experience and achievements in scholarly activities and consulting in academia, government, and/or the private sector in the area of strategic leadership.
  4. Engagement - Describe your experience and achievements in interacting with high-level Government and private sector officials. Demonstrated ability' to interact with highest-level government professionals, senior military officers, executives and Leaders in the US and other countries.
