  • Participant Agreement: All students must complete a Participant Agreement with National Archives that clearly identifies expectation of the appointment such as duties, work schedule, length of appointment, etc.

  • This Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed.

    Pathways Internship Program Requirements
    In order to be eligible for an appointment under the Pathways Internship Program:
    • You must be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution on a half- to full-time basis (as determined by the educational institution);
    • Meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of their appointments; and
    • Meet the qualification standards (e.g., series and grade) for their Internship positions
    Basic Qualifications: You must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled).

    GS-04 Candidates must have had one (1) year of general experience which is progressively responsible for clerical, office, or other work which shows that you have the ability to obtain the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

    Education may be substituted for experience (GS-04): Education may be substituted for experience. Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.

    Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of experience and college education to meet the total requirements for this position. (NOTE: You must have a large enough percentage of the required experience and large enough percentage of the required education, so that when added together, the percentage would equal 100%.)
