    Individuals who have obtained a qualifying Bachelor's, Master's, Professional or Doctorate degree from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years. OR
    Individuals who will obtain a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional or Doctorate degree from a qualifying educational institution within 90 days from the date of application. Applicants must provide proof of degree conferral prior to appointment OR
    Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who were unable to apply within 2 years of obtaining a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional or Doctorate degree from a qualifying educational institution due to their military service obligation.     Basic Requirement:
    The Engineering series - GS-855 Electronics Engineer- require a degree in Professional Engineering.     Specialized Experience:

    For the GS-07, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-05 if outside the Federal service, is required.

    Specialized experience is defined as aiding and assisting with engineering methods to perform spectrum-related analyses, tests and evaluations of system designs and operational performance.


    In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing KSA's or competencies are required.

    SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement when education is directly related to the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. One full year of graduate education is the number of hours the school determines to equal one year. If this information is unavailable, 18 semester hours will be used as the standard. Successful completion all of the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and claim eligibility for superior academic achievement based on one of the following: an overall or final grade point average of a 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, class standing in the upper third of my graduating class or major subdivision, or membership in a national scholastic honor society. (You MUST submit transcripts or proof of education to verify your claim.)
    To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. Official transcripts will be requested at a later date.

    Your application will be evaluated and rated under the Category Rating and Selection Procedures.     Application of Veterans Preference: The Category Rating Method does not add veterans' preference points or apply the "rule of three," but protects the rights of veterans by placing them ahead of non-preference eligibles within each category.
