The Histotechnologist III performs all duties of a Histotechnologist and practices his/her best judgment in the performance of lead histology duties in accordance with established laboratory policies in the absence of the Pathology Manager. The position coordinates with the Pathology Manager all leadership duties in histology and assists as needed in the planning and coordinating assignments and scheduling of histotechnologists and lab technicians. They perform quality control and maintenance procedures in accordance with policy and participate in Laboratory Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Initiatives.

Qualified candidates will possess:

Minimum of at least two years as a bench tech in histology dependent on department needs.
Knowledge of the information, techniques and equipment needed to provide applicable testing and services for patients and physicians is preferred.
Well-organized, thorough and conscientious approach in performing duties.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to solve day to day conflicts/problems in a professional manner.
