The Director of Nursing for the Behavioral Health and Wellness service line will oversee, direct and manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing department for the Behavioral Health and Wellness Service line at Shady Grove Medical Center.
•\tProvides guidance and direction that moves the team towards common or shared goals with available resources that support organizational mission and goals.
•\tDevelops and monitors cost controls to utilize time, material, and personnel resources in an effective and efficient manner.
•\tExplores service needs, establishes and implements long and short-term objectives that are consistent with the organization's mission, vision, values, and goals.
•\tCreates a work environment that meets staff and organizational needs.
•\tManagement Responsibilities: carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management and employee relation functions.
•\tDevelops and monitors cost controls to utilize time, material, and personnel resources in and effective and efficient manner.
•\tCoordinates the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, 24 hours a day.
•\tParticipates in training and development to enhance own professional skills and growth.
· BA/BS degree in nursing required
Master's degree in a related discipline preferred 5 years' nursing management experience in a healthcare setting
5 years' nursing management experience in a healthcare setting
Minimum 2 years' director of nursing experience
Registered Nurse licensed in State of Maryland
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
