    This position is located in The Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes (OLHCHH). The mission of OLHCHH is to eliminate lead-based paint hazards in low-income privately owned homes. The Office also conducts research, demonstrations, and public education to identify and control other hazardous substances and agents in housing that cause preventable childhood diseases and injuries, such as toxic mold, asthma triggers, allergens, and carbon monoxide.

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    - Providing direction and solutions to managers or policy stakeholders on new or revised policies and programs; AND
    - Conducting research studies and serving as a focal point within an organization for coordination of research and program evaluation with other departments, public and private organizations or the housing industry and financial markets.

    For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    - Researching new or revised policies and programs and developing recommendations; AND
    - Participating in research studies and program evaluation on housing related programs.

    Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a a bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
    OR
    Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
    OR
    Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

    The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    - A one year probationary period may be required.
    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
