Job Description: Assumes operational responsibility for the development of patient and staff education within designated center(s) population(s). Promotes the application of nursing clinical expertise in a specified patient population. Accountable for defined aspects of staff development, continuing education and professional development of all nursing staff to improve quality and patient safety. Supports system and hospital projects and initiatives. Functions as an educator, facilitator, change agent, consultant, researcher, and leader. Education Level
RN-Bachelor's Level Degree

Required: Clinical - 2 years

Required: Basic Life Support, Registered Nurse

Sentara RMH Medical Center, a Magnet designated hospital located in Harrisonburg VA, is currently seeking a Registered Nurse Staff Development Educator for the Nursing/In Service Education Department.


FLEXI (PRN) Day Shift position

Department/Position Overview:
The Education Department includes staff development, diabetes, and wound ostomy specialists. Staff development educators have responsibility for an assigned unit to perform onboarding and orientation, simulation, continuing education, and other tasks as appropriate. Becoming a staff development educator offers the opportunity for you to highlight your nursing skills and teaching abilities for a variety of learning styles. The education department offers an excellent opportunity for your own growth and professional development. We encourage anyone interested in education to apply!

This position requires experience and knowledge in pediatric nursing and PALs certification.

This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and three years clinical experience.
