The Mailroom Clerk provides mailroom deliveries, specialized office support, and facility management assistance to the Facilities Department. The position reports directly to the Director of Facility Services

Duties and Responsibilities:

60% Assembles, sorts, and distributes all mail throughout the facility.

20% Handles day-to-day administrative requests from Kennedy Center staff on a wide variety of tasks to include postage and courier requests.

10% Assists with special projects and offsite mail deliveries

5% Assists the Facilities department with minor physical labor as needed

5% Assists the Facilities department with administrative tasks related to office support


  • High School diploma or equivalent education

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sorting and delivery of mail for a commercial facility

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with mail delivery equipment

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required:

  • Ability to understand postal scales and rates

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Keen ability to properly plan and execute

  • Good time management skills
