The George Mason University, Student Health Services seeks a part-time Clinical and Administrative Medical Assistant. Qualifications: Occasional travel to our Arlington and Prince William campus locations is required. Must be willing to work a flexible weekly schedule including days, evenings, and occasional Saturdays. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; * Excellent communication skills; * Critical-thinking skills including the ability to prioritize and to facilitate cohesiveness and team work; * Experience and knowledge of the unique needs of a college student; * Experience and knowledge of all aspects of front office procedures including cash-handling; * Experience and knowledge of adult ambulatory care practices including patient flow, patient preparation, and vital signs; * Performs EKGs, Nebulizer Treatment, Phlebotomy, Medication Administration, Patient Care; * Knowledge of adolescent and adult immunization requirements; and * Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs). * Previous front office experience in a Healthcare setting, including use of Microsoft Products, Email and Electronic Health Records Education Criteria: * Education: high school diploma/GED or combination of education and experience; * Medical Assistant Certification or equivocal training and experience is preferred; * Healthcare Provider BLS certification; and * CPR certification is preferred. Level and type of Experience Criteria: * Significant experience in a Healthcare setting, Physicians Office or Outpatient care facility (preferably adult medicine or college health)
