  • Candidate must:
    - Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
    - Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
    - Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
    - Be able to work irregular hours (between 05:30 AM and 06:00 PM).
    - Be able to perform duties that involve working in an indoor and outdoor environment.
    - Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
    - Documentation of good mental and physical health and freedom from communicable disease.
    - Satisfactory completion (no convictions of child abuse, molestation, neglect, or battering; or drug related offense) of Local and National Background Checks.

    CYPA (Entry Level) CY-1702-01:
    Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.

    CYPA (Skill Level) CY-1702-01:
    Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
    AND
    Three (3) months working in a group program with children or youth, plus Army or other military service Entry Level Training as evidenced by service-issued Certificate of Completion. OR
    Six (6) months of experience working in a group with children or youth, plus nine (9) semester hours of college credit with course content directly related to the age group to which assigned, for example: Child Development Centers: Early Childhood Education/Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education. School Age: Elementary Education, Child Development, Youth Development, Special Education. Youth Services: Youth Development, Secondary Education, Human Development, Youth Program Administration, Recreation, Physical Education, or directly-related behavioral or cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting). Note (1): One year vocational certificate in child care or equivalent to other child/youth programs meets the intent of the education requirement. Note (2): General psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying.

    CYPA (Target Level) CY-1702-02:
    Meet Entry Level requirements and
    Possess 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus Army or other military service Entry Level Training as evidenced by service-issued Certificate of Completion OR
    Meet Entry Level requirements and
    Possess 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of college credit which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with course content directly related to the age group to which assigned, for example: School Age: Elementary Education, Child Development, Youth Development, Special Education or directly-related behavioral or cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting. **General psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying. OR
    Meet Entry Level requirements and
    Possess 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus a bachelor's degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above OR
    Meet Entry Level requirements and possess and maintain one of the following directly related to the age group of the position to which assigned: Military School Age Credential

    In order to be qualified at a higher level than Entry, transcripts or Certificate of Completion as indicated above are required to be uploaded at the time of application.     • This is an intermittent (Flexible) appointment with no guaranteed hours. Flexible positions will normally be scheduled between 0-40 hours per week dependent upon the needs of the organization. There are no guaranteed hours for flexible positions. Positions under this vacancy announcement may be filled with multiple employment categories (ex: Flexible/Intermittent- scheduled or as needed, regular Full and Part Time etc.)
