The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is competent in producing, use, recognition and analysis of ultrasound images and protocol used for patient diagnosis and treatment. The practitioner must be knowledgeable in ultrasound physics and instrumentation, normal anatomy and pathological variants. Delivers World Class patient care and clearly performs AIDET. 1.\tPerforms clinical assessments and produces high quality sonographic images to provide accurate data for the Radiologists.
2.\tDemonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients on their assigned unit/department.
3.\tDemonstrates ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt sonographic examinations as necessary.
4.\tCoordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided. Anticipates patient's needs and exceeds expectations.
5.\tAbility to evaluate, synthesizes, and communicates diagnostic information to the attending physician.
6.\tAssumes responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all patients in the sonographic area/department.
7.\tReports equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member and completes associated forms.
8.\tAbility to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. Maintains schedule and prioritizes exams.
9.\tUses computer systems (Cerner, Viewpoint, McKesson Pacs and Hconnect) correctly to document patient information.
10.\tProvides proper notification for absence or tardiness.

PRN as needed, call and weekends
